QUALIFICATIONS
Read economics at the London School of Economics and graduated in 1977.
Qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1980 and advanced to Fellowship.
Became an Associate of the Institute of Taxation in 1983.
BACKGROUND
Trained at Spicer and Pegler, London, which later became part of Deloitte & Touche.
Joined Haslers in 1981 and progressed to partnership in 1983.
Led the Haslers tax practice as it expanded from just 3 full-time staff through to its current position of 4 tax partners and 29 staff.
Continues as senior tax partner with special responsibility for planning.
EXPERIENCE
In 30 years, he has advised on a very wide range of tax issues for both individuals and businesses.
Martin´s key role in Haslers Tax Consultancy continues to be the identification of planning opportunities suitable for specific client circumstances and then taking those ideas from the development phase, often involving Tax Counsel and direct contact with the Revenue, through to completion of the transactions involved.
His work in this area with a small team of experts from Haslers Special Projects Group has provided Haslers Tax Consultancy with a resource for the development of innovative planning that few other firms can match.
