QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1970 and advanced to Fellowship in 1975.
Obtained an Insolvency Licence in 1990 and is a Fellow of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
BACKGROUND
Trained as a Chartered Accountant at a medium-sized London firm, which became part of PKF, where he progressed to Group Audit Manager.
Became a Partner in Spicer & Pegler,Gibraltar (which became part of Coopers & Lybrand and is now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in 1981. He was Head of both the Audit and Insolvency Departments there.
In 1993 he returned to London and set up an Insolvency Department through a city-based practice.
In 1999 he moved, with his department to join Haslers, where he heads the Insolvency and Recovery Services Department.
EXPERIENCE
Richard has a broad range of experience in all types of insolvency appointments both personal and corporate. He has particular expertise in fraud based insolvency work both in offshore jurisdictions and the United Kingdom. This work has involved the tracing and recovery of assets including appointments under the Criminal Justice, Drug Trafficking and Proceeds of Crime Acts. He has also acted as Arbitrator in financial disputes.
