QUALIFICATIONS
Nick Nicholson obtained an Economics degree and then passed the Joint Insolvency Examinations Board exams in December 2006. He is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner. Nick is a Member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and a Member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association.
BACKGROUND
Nick worked within a niche City firm of Chartered Loss Adjusters & Forensic Accountants for over 10 years where he specialised in fraud claims relating to the Insolvency industry. In August 2003 he joined the Recovery & Reorganisation department of RSM Robson Rhodes as a manager, and continued in this role following the merger with Grant Thornton UK LLP in July 2007.
EXPERIENCE
Nick has specialised in the identification and recovery of assets into insolvent estates, using both insolvency and other civil legislation. Cases typically involve preference actions, wrongful trading, and dishonest assistance claims. He has been involved in high profile MTIC fraud (Carousel VAT fraud) cases and has experience of negligence and dishonest assistance actions against professional advisors to such failed companies. He has also gained broad experience of advising various large creditor groups on the implementation of recovery strategies.
